I have been meaning to create this post since our return to work after Christmas. It is certainly long overdue!
You all know Paul Bartlett, of course, the Director and Senior Support Coordinator of our organisation. Only a few of you will have heard of me though, and fewer still will recognise me.
My name is Amy, and I have been working for Paul since October 2020. After managing Communication Extra alone for 5 months, Paul needed some help in the office, and appointed me as his Business Support Officer. I currently work betweeen 10am and 2pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
I am a hearing person. I am learning Auslan and hope to be skilled enough to communicate with you all soon. For the moment, the best way to talk to me is via email, or the contact form on our website. I can help with talking to your Plan Manager, or your service providers, on the phone or in other ways.
Before working for Paul, I worked in schools for many years, both as a teacher and in administration. I am a qualified Early Childhood Educator and am especially interested in languages and communication. Learning Auslan and working with the Deaf Community is an exciting opportunity for me.
I look forward to meeting (and signing with) you in the future!
