What is Auslan Interpreting?
This service delivers is delivered by a Qualified NAATI Auslan interpreter to convey meaning between English and Auslan.
This service is offered only to our clients who already have a Service Agreement with us. NAATI is a body responsible for accrediting translators and interpreters in Australia. NAATI is short for National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters. The core function of NAATI is to: “maintain high national standards in translating and interpreting to enable the existence of a pool of accredited translators and interpreters responsive to the changing needs and demography of the Australian community.” NAATI has been in existence for many years and has been accrediting translators and interpreters in Australia since 1977. |
Why do we need Auslan Interpreting?
Many Deaf people are not comfortable about using their English skills. This is where Communication eXtra can support them.
Communication eXtra has a Qualified NAATI Auslan interpreter, Sally, who provides services for Deaf clients using advanced and innovative systems. Sally is accredited and follows the ASLIA code of ethics and Auslan Services Codes of Conduct. Our services available to you include: Face-to-Face Interpreting– Auslan Interpreters attend onsite and interprets in person. Video Remote Interpreting– Interpreter work from our location and interprets via video preference |
Where do we deliver interpreting services?
Sally our interpreter, will meet you in person or on webcam, we will discuss what you need.
NAATI Qualified interpreting can be done via video and is available anywhere that has stable internet connection. |
Who delivers our Auslan interpreting?
Sally Milner is an experienced and qualified NAATI Auslan interpreter and bookings can be made with our office if required.
We also engage other suitable Auslan interpreters for bookings required to meet the specific needs of our clients. Sally has worked within the Deaf and hard of hearing communities for more than 20 years as as a certified Auslan/English interpreter. |
How much does our Auslan Interpreting service cost?
As per our service agreement a minimum charge of 2 hours applies.
Communication eXtra charge the rate of $135.74 per hour and this service is only offered to clients who have an existing Service Agreement with us. |
