What is Business Advice and Coaching?

Many Communication eXtra clients want to be able to work for themselves, as a self-employed worker.

Communication eXtra supports clients to set themselves up so they can work for themselves. We do this by helping clients:
  • Put together a Resume/CV, and that shows all of their different qualifications in one place
  • Identify what clearances they need, such as a police check, and help apply for them
  • Identify and complete the necessary training to work in their area of interest.  For example, if they wish to work supporting NDIS participants , then we support them with doing the  on-line NDIS Worker Orientation course 
  • Put together a portfolio of what they can do as and advise how they can build up the skills needed to  work as a self-employed contractor
  • Identify what tools they need to do their work
  • Apply for an ABN
  • Put together a marketing and PR package, and promote their business
  • Arrange a budget, pay tax and work out how much to charge
  • Prepare a Service Agreement and an Invoice Template to be used by the client with the clients of their own business
  • Understand the risks involved in setting up their own business, and also to  hear about the benefits and rewards of business ownership
  • With anything else needed to get them up and running

Communication eXtra would like to advise that it takes time to build up a freelance business. So don't leave your regular job until you are earning enough money to replace lost income if you leave your other work!

Why do we need Business Advice and Coaching?

Some people may not be working but are interested in going out into the world and working for themselves.

Or they may already be working but are interested in taking on a second job working for themselves!

Or others may be thinking about a change of career and trying something quite different. Or they may just want to further their careers by learning new skills.

This is where Communication eXtra comes in; we can support you to get the job of your dreams! The funds in your NDIS Plan are there to help achieve your goals. 

Where do you deliver Business Advice and coaching services?

Communication eXtra can meet with you or talk with you in different ways:
  • Using Auslan or spoken English or both
  • SMS or email
  • Webcam via Skype, Zoom, or any other webcam method
  • Face to Face in your home, our offices or café etc

Who delivers this service?

Communication eXtra staff will be delivering this service. If required we are able to engage other professionals to deliver some aspects of this service.

How much does this service cost

Communication eXtra delivers the Business Advice and Coaching service to their Support Coordination clients.

If you wish to receive this service but are not a Support Coordination client of Communication eXtra, then you need to register with us as a client first.

If you do not have an NDIS Plan, then it is not possible to receive this service.

Fees for this service are the same as those for our Support Coordination Services.
